A green parrot: the unearthed memories of a Jewish child living under Nazi occupation, Tamar Dror

Translated by Kitia Altman OAM, A green parrot is a book of memoirs by Tamar Dror (Marusia Cygler) which covers the time when she lived under a false identity as a Christian child in Nazi-occupied Poland during the implementation of the Final Solution (the euphemism used by the Germans to describe their plan for the total annihilation of European Jewry).

Tamar Dror wrote her childhood memories in Hebrew, and her friend Monica Gutman translated them into Polish for her cousin Henrietta (Kitia) Altman.  Kitia translated not only Tamar’s words but also her thoughts and feelings into English.
