Length of tour

The average visit to the Museum's permanent exhibition is generally about two hours. An additional hour should be allowed to view any temporary or special exhibitions. The two hour and a quarter schools program consists of an introduction to the Holocaust, a brief documentary, a survivor testimony, a guided tour of the museum displays, reflection and farewell. There is also an opportunity to light a candle in the Memorial Room.

Special guided tours for groups or organisations can be arranged by completing the online School Booking Request Form or the Private Group Booking Request Form. For all enquiries contact the centre to discuss your requirements.

Guides

Volunteer guides, many of whom are Holocaust survivors, are available to answer questions and share personal stories with visitors. Many volunteers and guides speak Yiddish, Hebrew or European languages. Visitors can contact the Centre to enquire about the availability of guides with specific language skills.

Books

Special exhibition guidebooks can be obtained from the Centre’s reception desk, where there is also a wide selection of books, many written by local survivors available for purchase.

Special Needs

Wheelchair and lift access is available and a toilet for the disabled is located on the lower ground floor. Disabled parking spots are available in Selwyn Street.
Visitors can contact the Centre to discuss any special needs they have before their visit.
